You have a great cause and motivation to raise money for it. Now you just need to know how to do it!
Here, fundraising extraordinaire Katie Martin with the 8beats project gives you tips on how to make your campaign a success:
Get in touch with why you got involved with your project. People don’t buy what you do; they buy why you do it. So share that why with the people that you’re meeting with and prospects that you’re engaging with.
Share exactly how much money you would like each person to donate. Share how much time you have left. Share what your final goal is and share how close we are to your final goal.
If you need to raise $28,000, explain to your prospects that if your team of 14 each asks 20 people to donate $100, you will meet your goal. When you break it down to the individuals, the numbers aren’t nearly as daunting.
Be sure that you’re meeting with people in person, hosting events, doing phone calls, texting people, meeting with your pastor, making pulpit announcements, tabling after Masses. There are lots of different avenues for marketing your project.
People can’t always give monetarily, but they can give in other ways. So ask for prayer (it really works!), ask them to share your project (it’s free!), and of course, ask them for donations.
We hope this is helpful in getting you to your goals. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us!
